Welcome to my blog! The semester is over, it has been months of different challenges to face, however, I have managed to finish with all my assignments. In this blog I want to tell you what I have learned through all these activities.   At first it was difficult for me to make compositions because I did not have the basics and I did not know the structures that a piece of writing should have either. Before studying this subject, I used to write without knowing that everything has a logical order. I learned how to write in a coherent and cohesive way and little by little my writings were improving and became less complicated. Another challenge that I had to face in this subject, is that I am not particularly good at imagining stories and I had to develop my creativity and imagination. One of the things I learned is that writing is a process that takes time, you do not write randomly, because there is a step by step to follow from brainstorming, constant revision of ...

My autobiography

Welcome to my blog! The semester is about to finish and this week we were only working on the activity of the week. It has been a semester full of adventures, and learning new things is not always easy. I would like to be honest, when the semester started, I was very afraid because I absolutely did not know about compositions, and I thought that I was not going to be able to achieve satisfactory results. Each week has been a personal challenge; however, I have learned a lot and I am incredibly grateful for all the help and patience of our teacher. This week's activity was about making a first-person autobiography about our lives. It was an incredibly fun and enriching experience because it made me think about those things that have happened to me throughout my life and that I often take for granted. It helps me to remember everything I have worked to achieve my goals and those people who have been with me to support me throughout the process. A biography is the life sto...

A tell tale-heart

Welcome to the blog of the week! It is almost the end of the semester and the classes are about to finish, that is why this week was focused on the practice of what has been learned during the last months. The week's activity was about reading a short story  "The tell-tale heart" by the famous writer Edgar Allan Poe. I had never read the stories written by him and I must confess that it was quite difficult to understand the story the first time I read it, therefore, I had to read several times in order to have a better understanding of the text. After reading I decided to look for those words I did not know and that allowed me to understand the story in a better way. My teacher asked us to write a short story in the first person of one of the characters mentioned by Edgard Allan Poe (a police officer), that is, from the point of view of that specific character.  Before I started writing I had to answer some questions about the story. The first stage was a prewr...

Autobiographical writing

Imagen
This week we studied about autobiographical writing and I would like to share with you what I learned. AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL WRITING It is a different form of biography, we all know that biography is the life story of a person, in the case of autobiography, it is the same but written by someone else.   Some people do not write their story because they think they are not good writers and prefer someone else to write their life story . In addition, they are still considered authors because they are the ones who provide information to the person who writes.   A good autobiographical composition includes:   Events of the writer's life in a logical order , that is, a timeline from their childhood to their present life.   A central conflict or important focus,in other words, writers should focus on specific aspects of their life or a specific experience. The writer must use vivid details and try to be more specific in the information of places, pe...

SHORT STORIES

Welcome back to my blog! SHORT STORIES   This week we studied about what is a short story and I would like to share with you a little of what I learned. Short stories use the imagination to describe characters or short events that can be read quickly without stopping. These stories also mix real things and places to support the story or make it look more realistic.  It is important to remember that there are things that you need to include: A plot: A plot is a series of events that form the story, give it the structure and sequence. A point of view: It is the angle to tell the story, that is, in which person the story is being told (1st, 2nd, or 3rd person). A conflict: situations or problems that characters face throughout the plot of the story. A clear structure: It is necessary that there is a beginning, middle and end of the story so that the course of the events is understood, and the reader has clarity of the message or purpose of the story. A cl...
