NARRATION

 WELCOME BACK!

This week we studied the topic of narration, and I would like to share with you what I learned.

Narration

Some forms of narration are novels, short stories, poems, etc. In a narration the different kinds of paragraphs can be combined to be able to convey the message or the purpose to the readers.

When writing a short story, different facts about events are included and they always follow an order.

The details are important when writing stories that’s why narrative and descriptive details are used to help plot the narrative story.

NARRATIVE DETAILS

They provide specific information about the characters, places, things, and events. These details apart from actions, thoughts, and feelings, also include dialogues. They answer to: what? how? Who?

DESCRIPTIVE DETAILS

These details add something extra to the framework and there are 3 types of descriptive details: sensory, factual, and figurative.

It is important to remember that the five senses are used to describe but figures of speech can also be used, for example: metaphor, simile, etc.

The purpose of using them is with the aim that the readers develop their imagination. The writers decide the way to tell the story, that is, their point of view.

There are 3 popular forms:

First person:  The protagonist usually tells the story.

The pronouns “I”, “me”, and “we” are used.

Second person: A narrator is used to speak to the readers.

Pronouns: “you”, “your”, “yours” in second person narrative.

This point of view is used to add to the audience a technical writing, speeches, songs, etc.

Third person: An external narrator is used to tell the story. The most famous in this category are the quotes.

Pronouns: “he”, “she”, “it”, or “they”.

We finally put into practice what we learned, and I want to share with you the activity of the week.
